Logo Design FAQ

Common questions about the logo design process, pricing, timelines, and what to expect when working with Pacific Logo.

How much does professional logo design cost?

It depends on the scope. A standalone logo is a different investment than a full brand identity with business cards, signage specs, and brand guidelines. Every project is scoped individually after an initial conversation about your business and what you need, and we'll put together a clear quote so there are no surprises.

What's the difference between a logo and a brand identity?

A logo is a single mark, the symbol or wordmark that represents your business. A brand identity is the complete visual system: logo, colour palette, typography, photography style, business cards, letterhead, signage guidelines, and a brand standards document that ensures consistency everywhere your brand appears. Some businesses need the full system from day one. Others start with a logo and build from there over time. Either approach works well.

How long does the logo design process take?

Timelines vary depending on the scope of the project and how many rounds of refinement are involved. A standalone logo is generally quicker than a full brand identity with packaging or signage. We'll give you a realistic timeline upfront so you can plan around it. If you have a deadline in mind, let us know early and we'll do our best to accommodate it.

What files do I receive when the logo is finished?

Every client receives a complete logo file package: vector formats (AI, EPS, SVG) for print and signage, high-resolution PNG and JPG files for digital use, and web-optimized versions. Files are provided in full colour, single colour, reversed (white), and black versions. Brand guidelines documents are included with full brand identity packages.

Do I own the logo after the project is complete?

Yes. Upon final payment, full copyright and usage rights transfer to you. You own the logo outright and can use it however you choose: on products, marketing, vehicles, signage, merchandise, and any other application. No licensing fees, no restrictions.

How many concepts will I see?

The number of initial concepts depends on the package. Smaller projects typically start with 2 to 3 creative directions, while larger brand identity projects explore more. Each concept takes a different visual approach to your brand. After you choose a direction, that concept goes through rounds of refinement based on your feedback. You're involved at every stage. It's a genuine collaboration.

Can you design a logo for a business outside Vancouver Island?

Absolutely. While Pacific Logo is based in Parksville on Vancouver Island, we work with clients across British Columbia and North America. The process works seamlessly over video calls, email, and shared concept presentations. Geography has never limited a project.

What if I don't like any of the initial concepts?

It happens occasionally, and it's not a problem. If none of the initial directions feel right, we'll talk through what's missing and explore a new round of concepts. The goal is a logo you genuinely connect with, and honest feedback early on is the fastest way to get there.

Do you design business cards, signage, and packaging too?

Yes. Many clients come back after the logo for business cards, letterhead, signage specs, vehicle wrap layouts, packaging design, and brand guidelines. Websites are available as well, covered in its own question below. Everything is designed to work together as a cohesive system, so whether you add to the brand now or down the road, it all fits.

Do you build websites, or just design them?

Both. The site gets designed and built, then deployed and tested live, so there is no handoff to a separate developer and no gap where the design gets approximated. Hosting can be handled for you if that is easier, or the site can be deployed to a host you already use. Sites are built mobile first, since that is where most people will see them, and they include the things that often get skipped: proper page titles, analytics, a privacy policy, and accessible markup. Websites are quoted as their own project, and they pair naturally with a logo or brand identity if you need both.

What industries do you work with?

Pacific Logo has designed brand identities for businesses in construction, real estate, agriculture, marine, technology, healthcare, hospitality, cannabis, education, engineering, and more. The portfolio includes trades companies, professional services, retail brands, and community organizations. Every industry has its own visual language, so working across all of them means your logo will feel right for your market.

How do I get started?
