Logo Design in Nanaimo

Mid-Island, not Victoria. Forty minutes up the highway, and here since 2010.

Worth being straight about geography, because several of the designers ranking for this search are not on this part of the Island at all. Pacific Logo is in Parksville, about forty minutes north of Nanaimo on the Island Highway. That is close enough to meet in person when it helps and far enough that we are not going to pretend Nanaimo is our home town.

What we do bring is fifteen years of work in the mid-Island market: the same trades, the same marine and industrial businesses, the same professional services competing for the same clients. Nanaimo is the commercial centre this whole region runs through, and most of the portfolio has business in it one way or another.

Nanaimo and mid-Island work

Darren at Nanaimo Wrestling, on a brand project for the club: "From the very first connection Sean understood our team's vision and the requirements for this project. His clear communication and prompt responses ensured a smooth process and an outstanding end product."

Beyond that, the portfolio is thick with the categories Nanaimo runs on: marine and hydraulics, industrial and engineering consultancy, construction and trades, real estate, and commercial services.

What a Nanaimo brand is competing against

Nanaimo is a bigger and more crowded market than Oceanside, which changes the brief. You are rarely the only option in your category, and the businesses winning are often the ones that simply look more established than they are.

  • Marine and industrial. The harbour economy runs on trust and technical credibility. A mark has to survive a hull, a hard hat and a tender document without looking like a startup logo.
  • Trades and construction. Higher density means more trucks on the road with more logos on them. Standing out is a legibility problem before it is a creative one. See the construction and trades page.
  • Professional services. Competing against firms with mainland budgets. Consistency across the proposal, the card and the site is the cheapest way to close that gap.
  • Retail, food and hospitality. Downtown, the north end and Woodgrove are three quite different markets, and the branding that works in one is often wrong in another.

How it works from forty minutes away

Most of the process is the same wherever you are: a discovery conversation, concept presentations, rounds of refinement, then final files. For Nanaimo clients that first conversation happens in person often enough to be worth offering, and the rest runs over video and shared concept reviews. Plenty of Pacific Logo clients are across BC and North America, so the remote half of this is well practised.
