Logo Design in Parksville
Not a designer who serves Parksville from somewhere else. A studio that has been based here since 2010.
Search for a logo designer in Parksville and most of what comes back is either a directory listing or a studio in Victoria or Vancouver that has added Parksville to a list of cities on a page. Pacific Logo is here. The studio has operated out of Parksville since 2010, and a good share of the portfolio is work you can find within a twenty minute drive.
That matters more than it sounds. A designer who knows the difference between a business serving summer visitors on the waterfront and one serving year-round trades work in Errington asks better questions at the start, and the logo that comes out the other end fits the market it actually has to work in.
Parksville and Oceanside work
Parksville Museum
A heritage identity for the Museum, built around a skyline of the community's historic buildings: the schoolhouse, the firehall and the church. The mark tells the story of Parksville at a glance, which is exactly what a museum identity should do.
Coombs Fair
A heritage shield for a fair that has run since 1913, designed to serve both the annual summer event and the year-round fairgrounds facility from a single system. Everyone in this area knows the fair. Getting that mark right was a local responsibility as much as a design job.
Schug Realty Group
A typography-driven realtor identity that had to coexist with the Royal LePage parent brand on every lawn sign, vehicle and storefront across Parksville and Qualicum Beach. If you live here you have driven past it.
Magnum Project Management
A construction project management identity built for the jobsite and the boardroom. The geometric M encodes Mount Arrowsmith, which is a reference that only really lands if you live under it.
What Parksville businesses usually need
The mix here is particular. A lot of trades and contractors, a lot of professional services aimed at a retirement-heavy population, tourism and hospitality that lives or dies in a short season, and community organisations that run on volunteer time and cannot afford to look amateur.
- Trades and contractors. The logo has to read from a truck door at speed and survive embroidery, vinyl and a decade of weather. There is a full page on what construction marks have to survive.
- Professional services. Competing on trust, often against larger firms in Nanaimo. Consistency across a proposal, a card and a website is what closes that gap.
- Tourism and hospitality. A season this short means the brand has to do its convincing quickly, usually on a phone screen, usually before someone has arrived.
- Community organisations. Limited budget, high visibility, and a mark that will end up on everything from a banner to a volunteer t-shirt.
Working with a designer down the road
Most of the process works fine remotely, and plenty of Pacific Logo clients are nowhere near Vancouver Island. But when you are both in Parksville there is a real advantage to sitting down at the start with the actual signage, the actual truck and the actual storefront in mind, and to being able to drive past the finished thing afterwards.
Adam Schug put it this way after the realty identity: "From start to finish, Sean went above and beyond, taking the time to sit down with us and really dive deep into understanding our vision."
